Badge Criteria

Children are assessed throughout the term and badges are awarded throughout the term. There are several different types of badges that the children are assessed on.

• Duckling awards (for children up to 5 years): Levels 1-4
• Learn to swim awards: Puffin to stage 10
• Rainbow distance awards: 5metres to 5000 metres!
• Water skills awards: levels 1-6

Other badges that advanced swimmers work towards in addition to the above are:

• Personal Survival 1 & 2 and Water Safety awards 1,2,3
• Bronze, Silver, Gold and Honours Challenges
• Speed swims : Bronze, Silver and Gold
• Diving awards – Stage 8/9/10
